APTA’s Vision Statement for the Physical Therapy profession is Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience. The guiding principles to achieve the vision include facilitating movement as a key to optimal quality of life for all people that extends beyond health to every person's ability to participate in and contribute to society. That’s why "OPTimize MOVEment: OPTA's Lecture Series and Research Showcase" will focus on advancing the integration of the movement system as the core of physical therapist (PT/PTA) practice, education, and research. The "movement system" represents the collection of systems (cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, integumentary, nervous, and musculoskeletal) that interact to move the body or its component parts.
This year, OPTimize MOVEment will focus on the evidence to support physical therapy practice and interventions for movement systems across the lifespan and across the continuum—including all practice areas. Join the Ohio Physical Therapy Association for a research-based conference featuring the popular 18-minute TED Talks inspired, "Research-Shorts" and our poster presentations on clinical or science-based investigations, case studies and special interest topics. Save the date for Friday, September 27.
