The Early Professional SIG (EPSIG) is a group dedicated to the advancement of our early professionals in the organization. This group was created to provide a forum
for communication among Early Professional (zero to five years post-graduation) physical therapists/ physical therapists assistants in Ohio.

EPSIG 2020 Quarterly Meeting Dates:

The EPSIG is comprised of a Chair, three (3) Pillar Leaders elected by OPTA Early Professional members in good standing, and six (6) District Representatives appointed by the districts. District Reps shall attend the district meetings and events occurring within the district they represent to serve as a communication link between the EPSIG and their respective OPTA district by preparing reports on district activities/concerns for the EPSIG Board.

The Leadership Pillar Leader
will focus on developing programming and/or resources to develop EPSIG members’ leadership skills, facilitate opportunities for EPSIG members to attend leadership programming within the Association, and aid EPSIG members in identifying opportunities
for future leadership within the OPTA and within our communities. The Leadership Pillar Leader shall assist the EPSIG chair in directing the EPSIG’s efforts to carry out the points of focus expressed within the Leadership Pillar, in addition to
joining the Conference Committee to serve as a communication link between the EPSIG and Conference Committee.
The Membership Pillar Leader
will focus on developing programming and/or resources for issues affecting Early Professionals, coordinate social media campaigns that highlight the benefits of membership of Early Professionals, and facilitate awareness of the multitude of
ways members can get involved within OPTA more generally. The Membership Pillar Leader shall assist the EPSIG chair in directing the EPSIG’s efforts to carry out the points of focus expressed within the Membership Pillar, coordinate any social
media campaigns, share upcoming events within the Association with EPSIG members, in addition to joining the membership committee to serve as a communication link between the EPSIG and Membership Committee.
The Mentorship Pillar Leader will focus on developing a clinical mentor resource list of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with an interest in mentorship and a willingness to mentor EPSIG members. The Mentorship Pillar Leader shall assist the EPSIG Chair in directing the EPSIG's efforts to carry out the points of focus expressed within the Mentorship Pillar, aid in facilitating communication between clinical mentors and EPSIG members through the OPTA CONNECT program, and serve as the Student SIG liaison to facilitate communication and mentorship between the EPSIG and Student SIG.
