This workshop will be a combination of didactic and hands-on lab allowing clinicians to experience and practice techniques for treating pregnant and postpartum patients. Our speaker, Karen Conner, PT, DPT, OCS, PRPC will share tools such as kinesiotaping, muscle energy techniques and neuromuscular re-education, that you will be able to immediately put into practice.
Dr. Connor works as a pelvic health clinical specialist at University Hospitals. In addition to her doctorate, she holds certifications in both orthopedics and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has presented at local universities, community groups and professional organizations on topics including: physiology of stress, yoga and the pelvic floor, pregnancy, and common pelvic floor dysfunctions. She has served as the Ohio representative and volunteer coordinator for the Section on Women’s Health of the American Physical Therapy and as vice chair of the Northeast District. Dr. Connor is currently developing several health initiatives for patients at University Hospitals including sexual health, chronic pelvic pain and postpartum recovery.
Participants are asked to wear/bring lab clothes as part of the CEU event.
