Interested in Vestibular evaluation and treatment? You will want to join us for "Vestibular Rehabilitation Fundamentals, Part I" on Tuesday, November 13 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Jesse Ehrnschwender, PT, MPT, AIB-VR/CON, will be presenting the course and will cover materials that are generally included in entry-level Physical Therapist Education of the vestibular system and it's evaluation and treatment.
By attending this course, you will be able to,
- compare and contrast the different presentations of patients with benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV), vestibulopathy, and central nervous system issues.
- identify signs and symptoms that suggest a patient would benefit from a referral to other providers.
- test the vestibular ocular reflex with a head impulse test.
- test for BPPV with a fully supported Hallpike.
In addition, the goal of this two-part course is to improve awareness of vestibular issues and also helping participants gain the ability to complete screening, basic management and referral based on categorization of issues into one of three basic groups: BPPV, Vestibulopathy and CNS issues. These goals should help to improve the efficacy and safety of care delivered to patients by the participants regardless of which setting they practice in.
*Please note, Part II of this course will take place on January 16, 2019 - Want to register for that? Click here.
